As stated in my about page, I love classical music and am particularly fond of classical piano music. I love going to concerts, attending masterclasses, keeping up with different piano competitions ( a pianist’s version of the Olympics ), competing in competitions, and attending an opera when I can. Music is such a large part of my life and has been for many years – I can’t imagine life without it.
Don’t even ask me to name a favorite composer ( although if I lean towards one, it would be Chopin ) or piece of music, because I can’t. Below however, are some particular pieces of music I fancy and that I want to share with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Bach: Keyboard concerto no.4 in A major, BWV 1055
Mozart: Piano concerto no.23 in A major, K.488
Chopin: Scherzo no. 2 in B-flat minor, Op.31 (one of my favorite recordings)
Chopin: Barcarolle in F-sharp major, Op. 60
Prokofiev: 10 pieces from Romeo and Juliet, op, 75 ( excerpts, in the order played: no.4, no.8, no.6 )
” Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent. “
– Victor Hugo
” The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul. “
– Johann Sebastian Bach
